The grace of God is God's love in action.
God's grace is more than His favor; it is His love acting to do something good for us. And because He loves us, He has acted to save us.

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men."
(Titus 2:11 NIV).
What is salvation?
Salvation is deliverance -- deliverance from something bad to something good.
Salvation is
  1. from death to life, and
  2. from sin to righteousness, and
  3. from wrath to peace.
These three aspects of salvation has been accomplished in the death and resurrection of Christ
by the grace of God and not by works.

Legalism has not only misunderstood the Biblical concepts of sin, but also of
righteousness, of the
righteousness of God and of
justification by faith.
